Hello all!
I'm late...Perhaps I should re-word this statement. Ladies you catch my drift...
Those who have read my previous blog in celebration for National Poetry and the Creative Mind day would recall that I was going to post one of my poems...
In this context I am late.
The inspiration for this poem was in response to the recent load shedding (for all those not living in South Africa, this is not a literal as making a person's load less, but rather electricity interruptions). This has sadly become a South African constant over the years.
Not quite along the theme of 'Electricity' by Dua Lipa.
So without further ado, victorious people, please see below. Give me a shout-out in the comments below. And as always feel free to share any of your poetic creations with BeBOLD and our readers.
Sans Electricity
" You make it possible to light up the world
You are vital but yet we take you for granted
You provide security, warmth, joy and laughter...
- But now all is quiet -
We whisper 'don't forget us'...
Feeling like a long time friend has just vanished without warning
Pleading 'come back to us', don't become a stranger
We won't overwork you till you are burnt out.s time
We won't overwork you till you are burnt out.
Provide us with that spark...
- One click -
Harmony restored. "
My creative expression for the day - hope you enjoyed reading it, because there's more to follow!
